You can set up an SMTP server using Fastmail in one simple step by creating an “App password”
An auto-generated password to secure your app.

App password

1. login to your Fastmail email account

2. Enter the settings

   

    

    

3. Click on the “Password & Security” tab

   

    

4. Click on the “New app password” button

5. Choose a “Custom” name

6. Select the SMTP option

   

    

7. Click on the “Generate” button

8. Make sure to copy the value of the generated password and save it (you will not be able to retrieve this password if you lose it)

   

    

    

9. Copy the password, then click on the "done" button.

10. That is it! Now you can use your App password and email address to customize your email communication.
